My Norfolk – Sue Mears
Sue moved to Norfolk over 20 years ago, and was followed by her brother and his partner a few years later. Together they opened Sticky Earth Café, the first ceramic café in Norfolk back in 2000, and this remains a family run attraction for visitors and locals alike.
Favourite shop
Bakers and Larners in Holt. It is a really good department store and has a mouth watering food hall.
Favourite eatery
That’s hard, no one place, we have a diversity of excellent restaurants, but I love to have seasonal produce like Norfolk grown asparagus.
Favourite walk
Along the old Cley harbour wall. The open expanse and sea breeze is exhilarating and blows the cobwebs away.
Favourite beach
East Runton, great for all ages, has a bit of every thing, rock pooling, paddling, swimming and sand, even fossils.
Favourite season
Definitely autumn. The colour of the trees, and the early morning mists hovering on the landscape.
Favourite memory
Family holiday camping in a relative’s garden in Bawburgh, and I joined an archaelogical dig in the village.
Reason to visit
The North Norfolk coast and its unspoilt beauty has captured and kept the best of the past, it has something for everyone.
Best of all
The people. I have never felt like an outsider.
